Dennis Decker started Pinellas Ale Works out of a passion for brewing and a desire to share it with others. The brewery's air-conditioned tap room boasts up to 30 taps and the adjacent shaded beer garden is typically filled with craft beer aficionados sipping their favorite beverage and enjoying games like giant jenga and cornhole.
They offer a wide range of beer styles, and are dog friendly inside and outside in the beer garden. They recently opened a new barrel aging room that doubles as an event space. Pinellas Ale Works loves calling the St. Pete Grand Central District home, and is excited about the continued growth around the district.

Have you heard? There's a new specialty grocery store that has just opened at Tyrone Square. Lucky's Market was started in 2003 by two chefs, Trish and Bo Sharon, when they bought a convenience store in Boulder, Colorado. The Sharon's shared a vision of creating a grocery store where food lovers like themselves would want to shop, with quality products sold at affordable prices with genuine personal service.
The St. Petersburg store is led by Curt Rotrock who was born and raised in Tampa, has raised his three daughters in the area and has more than 30 years of experience in grocery retail.
"Lucky's Market is excited to be part of the revitalization of the Tyrone area, and bring good food at great prices to more people in this thriving community," said Rotrock. "I look forward to sharing the Lucky's experience with the people of St. Pete's and having our new store be a strong community partner for many years to come."
The heart of the St. Petersburg Lucky's Market is the produce department where 3,000 square feet of space is devoted to more than 350 kinds of different fresh, seasonal and colorful produce items, and many of these are organic. Shoppers will also find Lucky's signature in-house smoked bacon, a large variety of delicious house-made sausages, fresh seafood, and a wide selection of "never ever" meats from the in-house butcher, which have never been treated with antibiotics or artificial growth hormones. Customers will also find a department filled with ready-to-eat meals, made from scratch daily inside the store as well as fresh grab-and-go sushi options, and a new made-to-order Ramen Bar using the freshest ingredients available. Close to 100 artisan cheeses from 10 countries and a large selection of fine charcuterie items can be found in the Lucky's Cheese Shop.
In addition to superb customer service, pressed juices and smoothies are made fresh throughout the day, and the store boasts an extensive beer and wine selection. Customers can dine in the market's outdoor seating area, or the inviting café area and grab a cold-pressed nitro coffee or kombucha from the tap, a $2 pint of beer or a $3 glass of wine for a "Sip 'n Stroll" shopping experience.
Shoppers can get as much or as little as they'd like in the bulk section that offers everything from gourmet coffee beans, organic flour, and freshly ground nut butters to trail mix and natural gummy bears. Rounding out the new store is a full apothecary department, which has been designed to deliver a unique experience with a bulk DIY wall where people can buy what they need to make their own teas, salves, tinctures, healing elixirs and more. In addition to local soaps, candles, and salt lamps, customers will find natural remedies and mainstream medicines for common ailments.
The St. Petersburg store will employ approximately 150 people. Lucky's Market is always working on ways to reduce its carbon footprint as a whole. In an effort to be more energy efficient, Lucky's Market stores feature LED lighting, heat reclaiming instruments, remote refrigeration systems controls, reflective roofs, and energy efficient equipment and appliances. Food waste diversion and mixed recycling programs are also prioritized in all stores.

Meet the Team: Edwin Blackwell Bailey, originally from San Antonio, Texas, has made St. Petersburg, Florida his home for last 25 years. A treasure hunter at heart, he has been a collector since the age of five, starting out with baseball cards and stamps. His curiosity for old things grew to include items like fine china, silver, historical ephemera, and artwork, beginning a lifelong hobby that would later become a successful career path. Since 2004, Edwin has worked full time buying and selling art and antiques. He opened Blackwell Auctions in 2015.
Shannon Bailey, the Business Manager, handles behind-the-scenes operations and customer relations, ensuring that all aspects of the auction experience run smoothly. Shannon grew up in St Petersburg and attended Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. When not at the gallery, Shannon generously donates her time and leadership skills as a community volunteer. She serves at BridgePoint Church and with the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) at the local, state and national levels. She serves as GFWC Florida Director of Junior Clubs, leading statewide projects related to children’s advocacy, women’s health, literacy, and other programs that positively impact the lives of Floridians. Shannon is also involved with SOZO Children in Uganda and has traveled there twice with the organization.
Logistics Manager Thad Deye produces expert photography of auction items and handles in-house packing and shipping services. Before joining forces with Blackwell Auctions, Thad owned and operated P.k.g.’s in St. Petersburg for over 20 years. His shop was the go-to for all the local auction houses in need of professional packing and shipping. Blackwell’s staff also includes Auction Specialist Janet Williams, who maintains consignor inventory and the gallery’s social media presence. On auction day, a team of well-trained staff, including well-known auctioneer John Noble, comes together to run a smooth sale. The Blackwell Auctions facility features comfortable seating, air conditioning, plenty of parking.
