Kimley-Horn has recently opened a new office in St. Petersburg to better serve the west coast of Florida. With its opening, the organization transitioned 16 employees to the new location at 100 Second Avenue South, with plans to expand further. The new St. Petersburg facility offers a range of services that include integrated water, transportation planning, landscape architecture, resiliency, and land development services.
Kimley-Horn has been a key player in improving the city’s infrastructure over the last decade, serving the area from a distance. The new brick-and-mortar office in the heart of downtown St. Petersburg makes Kimley-Horn’s 14th office in Florida, as they aim to reinforce economic development while broadening the firm’s presence on the west coast alongside its Sarasota and Tampa offices.
Kimley-Horn has completed several projects in St. Petersburg and surrounding areas—including the St. Petersburg Pier Approach Civil Design, the Innovation District Streetscape and Connectivity Concept Plan, St. Petersburg Complete Streets, 930 Central Flats apartments, Icon Central mixed-use development, Pump Station 122 Gravity Sewer System and Headwall Improvements, an Infiltration and Inflow Study in St. Petersburg Beach, and Pinellas County Flow Monitoring Studies.
“We are excited to open our new St. Petersburg office as it has been a 10-year undertaking,” says Scott Gilner, P.E., a Vice President at Kimley-Horn. “We believe this is a tremendous opportunity for Kimley-Horn to show St. Petersburg and Pinellas County our full extent of disciplines and exceptional client service. With our combination of passionate engineers in the St. Petersburg office and our national expertise to back them up, we see this as a huge opportunity for the community and Kimley-Horn.” As a leader of Kimley-Horn’s land development practice, Scott will help lead the office’s future expansions.
The engineering needs of the community continue to grow, and Kimley-Horn aims to help fill the gap. The firm’s St. Petersburg team will continue to work in partnership with the City of St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, and surrounding areas by offering top-notch professionals with in-house capabilities to provide exceptional client service and quality technical expertise.
