Throughout the year, the Chamber offers members and non-members the opportunity to attend unique, fresh events that build meaningful connections and create brand exposure. These events also offer visibility for businesses of all sizes to an audience committed to a common goal of economic growth and community vitality.
Annual Meeting (February)
The St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce's Annual Meeting is a celebration of the accomplishments of the past year, recognition of community leaders and a discussion of the vision for the future of the Chamber and our community. The Chamber Member of the Year will be named and the gavel will be passed from the outgoing Board of Governor's Chair to the incoming Board Chair. In January 2017, we celebrated our 118th Annual Meeting.
The Chamber is partnering with Tampa Bay Club Sport to put on the 1st Annual Pelican Playoffs - an opportunity for members to get outside and participate in a fun filled field day.
Small Business Week (May)
In alignment with National Small Business Week, we are celebrating the backbone of our community: our local, small businesses that make St. Pete shine. Members can get involved by offering a discount, submitting a small business success story, hosting a seminar and more.
Business Showcase (May)
As a showcase for the many businesses that make up our community, the Best Businesses in the ‘Burg is a great way to make new connections, represent your business and participate in one of many events during Small Business Week.
Good 'Burger Awards (September)
A Good 'Burger is a business, organization, or individual in greater St. Pete making a positive impact in our community. In honor of a former mayor who referred to his citizens as "burgers" (as in St. Petersburgers), the Good 'Burger Awards were established to honor Chamber members who contribute in a positive way to make our community special.
Thinking Outside the 'Burg
Thinking Outside the 'Burg is the Chamber's annual benchmarking trip to discover successful strategies to bring home and grow smarter. Sponsorship provides our organization brand exposure as a leader that is invested in helping our community grow.
Chamber Classic Golf Tournament (December)
The Chamber Classic offers our members the opportunity to show off their golf game and their organization’s personality. Members can sponsor holes on the course to network with players, set up their space with fun games and activities and compete for a chance to win the coveted "Most Outrageous Sponsor" award.
Grow Smarter Summit (December)
The summit will convene stakeholders of the Grow Smarter Strategy – an initiative to enhance the city’s competitive position to support quality, diverse economic growth now and in the future – for an update on the development of our six work groups.
CEO Reception (April and November)
CEO Reception is a Community Leader, Chamber Trustee and Advisor exclusive event to connect community partners together, and update them on Chamber initiatives.
Coffee Chats (Monthly) SOLD
Coffee chats are exclusive opportunities for Chamber members and elected officials to have an informal conversation at a Chamber business in the elected official’s district. Topics range from current events or upcoming policy issues that impact the economic growth and community vitality of St. Petersburg.
At the annual Legislative Reception, the Pinellas County Legislative Delegation discusses business victories and defeats of the legislative session. After the recap, the conversation continues with a Q&A session with member questions.
Popcorn & Politics
Popcorn & Politics is your chance to engage in an informal conversation with candidates running for City Council Districts 2, 4, 6, and the Mayoral Office. Chamber members are invited to learn more from each candidate before casting their vote in the upcoming general election.
Equality Means Business Dinner
In St. Pete, we know that equality means business, which is why its imperative employers provide a safe environment for individuals to bring their whole self to work.
The Chamber will present its top priorities of the legislative agenda to the Pinellas County delegation. Based on member surveys, the agenda if crafted by the Public Policy Council and approved by the Chamber's Board of Governors.
NETWORKING EVENTS & Programs
New Member Orientation (Monthly)
New Member Orientation is held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month and is a great way for new and prospective members to meet Chamber staff, network with fellow professionals and learn more about membership investments.
Member Appreciation Night (Monthly)
Member Appreciation Night is held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at a different member location. It is an opportunity to showcase our members in the hospitality industry while providing members the chance to build personal and professional relationships.
Now Trending (Quarterly)
Our quarterly Now Trending lunches are designed knowing that our members are constantly on the move, growing their business. Now Trending lunches are hosted by Chamber members and are focused on trending topics in St. Petersburg.

The Leadership Roundtable series offers SPYP members exclusive opportunities to meet with community leaders.
SPYP Annual Party
The Annual Party is a celebration of the year's accomplishments in connections, community service and advocacy. The new chair will be announced and we will look forward to the new year's strategy and goals.
