Growing business in St. Petersburg
The St. Petersburg Greenhouse offers business classes and workshops, 1-on-1 business consultations, a resource library and other assistance. Most workshops are free, and focus on a variety of topics ranging from Business Startup Basics, Researching & Writing your Business Plan, and Marketing & Social Media, to City Services & Incentives, QuickBooks training, and more.
1 Million Cups (1MC) is a simple way to engage entrepreneurs in communities around the world. Each week, two local entrepreneurs are selected to present their startups to a diverse audience of mentors, advisors, and entrepreneurs.
Presenters pitch their startup in a 6 minute educational presentation, followed by 20 minutes of feedback and Q & A with the audience.
Entrepreneurs gain insight into possible ways they can improve their businesses, gather real-time feedback, connect with a community that truly cares about their progress, and walk away feeling like they have advanced their business. The audience also learns a great deal from the presentations, and is able to provide assistance to budding startups in our community.
The BB&T Entrepreneurial Academy® (EA) is a ten-week program that teaches existing and future entrepreneurs the essentials of owning a business. Taught by business leaders from the community, the curriculum includes sessions on writing a business plan, sales, marketing, and more!
Upon successful completion, participants receive a complimentary 1-year 'Startup' membership to the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce.
The program is held twice a year at The Greenhouse: once in the spring and again in the fall.
