The League of Women Voters of the St. Petersburg Area is a nonpartisan national organization whose purpose is to promote informed, active participation in government, increase understanding of public policy issues and influence public policy through education and advocacy. The League as an organization does not support or oppose any political party, candidate for elective office, or any group that supports candidates.

The League is best known for its work in Voter Services: publishing an online voter guide, moderating forums, and registering voters. The League also takes action on issues, after a period of research, deliberation and consensus.    The League drove redistricting efforts in Florida and has been called the most effective advocacy organization in Florida. Issues for action are the result of the interests of its members. Issues for education and or advocacy in this League year include increasing residential solar in St. Pete, reducing gun violence, getting money out of local politics, closing the gap in health care, immigration reform and social justice.

As leaders, stewards and change makers, The League of Women Voters of the St. Petersburg Area invites Chamber members to partner with them in their endeavors at their upcoming Fundraising Gala & Mixer on August 26th from 6:00PM to 9:00PM. Tickets are available for members to mix, mingle and have a great evening on the bay!
