In 1979, VHB started out as a small transportation engineering firm in Watertown, MA. They have since grown to a 1,350-person integrated services firm with 24 offices across the eastern seaboard and is a privately held generational company: this means that their ownership is passed on to future generations of employee-owners. Each generation of managers is responsible for leaving the company in better condition than it was received. At VHB, they’re passionate about making meaningful contributions to the world through the work that they do and are proud, yet humbled, to have been doing this for 39 years.

VHB is a team eager to deliver value by embracing their clients’ goals, anticipating challenges, building lasting partnerships, and always providing a smooth ride. They are passionate professionals that include planners, engineers, scientists, and designers who partner with public and private clients in the transportation, real estate, institutional, and energy industries, as well as federal, state, and local governments. Together, they work to enhance communities and economic vitality, improve mobility, and balance development and infrastructure needs with environmental stewardship.

This year, VHB opened their Tampa office because they recognized that the Tampa/St. Pete area is a vibrant and growing community. Their Managing Director, Ben Siwinski has lived in the Tampa Bay Area for 18 years and is raising his family here too. Ben has witnessed tremendous changes in the area over the past 18 years. He is currently working with the City of St. Pete on its Integrated Sustainability Action Plan and sponsors, as well as volunteers at local community events. Because of VHB’s passion for safe and healthy transportation options, they have been sponsoring local events such as Open Streets, Localtopia, and 2018 St Pete Run Fest.
