$15 Minimum Wage Amendment

Posted On 09/10/2020 by Matt Lettelleir

On the Ballot this November will be a proposed Constitutional Amendment mandating at statewide Minimum Wage of $15 per hour by 2026. If the issue receives more than 60% favorable support, we will see a stepped increase in the Minimum Wage starting in 2021.

In order to gain a greater understanding of this issue and the implications passage may have on equity, business resiliency, and our local economy, the Chamber will host a series of “lunch and learn” sessions. The first session will be on Thursday, September 17th from 12-1 PM featuring Dr. Paul Isely, Associate Dean at Grand Valley State University in Michigan. (Learn more about Dr. Isely HERE)

We will follow this session with a panel representing both sides of the issue and then have a final open discussion among Chamber members.
