Florida Primary Recap and General Election Matchups

Primary Election Day in Florida has come and gone with some notable winners. Congratulations are in order for Michele Goolsby-Rayner as she has been elected to the Florida House to replace outgoing Representative Wengay Newton, and Eileen Long on her reelection to the Pinellas County School Board. Elected as Judges in the 6th Circuit Court are Liz Jack and Evan Frayman.

Congratulations are also in order for Anna Paulina Luna (Florida Congressional District 13), Rene Flowers (County Commission District 7),  Dawn Douglas (Florida House District 67), Eliseo Santana (Pinellas County Sheriff), Charles Thomas (Pinellas County Tax Collector), candidates will move on to face their general election opponents in November.

As a swing county that voted for President Donald Trump in 2016 and for Andrew Gillum in 2018, many of these races will be competitive.
