An eager crowd of Chamber Members and Tampa Bay Rowdies fans gathered today at Al Lang Stadium for the 2019 Season Kickoff Lunch presented by Florida Print Solutions, Inc. Attendees were able to hear from Tampa Bay Rays and Rowdies leadership, coaches, and players on what to anticipate for the 2019 season. A delicious lunch was prepared by Levy Restaurants, bringing a taste of what can be expected to be served throughout the upcoming season at Tropicana Field.
After a welcome from Mayor Rick Kriseman, Greg Holden, current chairman of the Chamber’s Rowdies Council, led a Q&A session with president of the Tampa Bay Rays and vice-chairman of the Tampa Bay Rowdies, Brian Auld. Auld offered insight on exciting new graphic designs, stadium accessibility, and unique concessions that fans can expect at Al Lang Stadium, making a debut for the 2019 season.
Rowdies Council member, Brady Diggs, continued a Q&A with Neill Collins, Lee Cohen, Zach Steinberger, and Leo Fernandes. Leadership and players expressed a lively outlook on the camaraderie that has quickly established between new and existing players, with high postseason aspirations expressed across the panel. St. Petersburg’s progressive dynamic and vibrant culture was a consistent theme for leadership and players new to the area, as well as those that have observed the city flourish over the years.
