Weapon Brand is Turning Awareness into Action in St. Pete

What does it mean to truly feel safe?
For Weapon Brand, safety isn’t just about defense—it’s about confidence, preparation, and connection. Founded by Brian Anderson-Needham and Jamie Anderson, Weapon Brand is on a mission to equip individuals, companies, and communities with the tools to stay safe, protect one another, and respond to today’s growing threats with calm and clarity.
What started as one self-defense workshop in St. Pete turned into something much bigger—and quickly. Within hours of launching their first local event, over 30 people signed up. The message was clear: this city wanted more than just awareness. It wanted action.
From the Battlefield to the Boardroom
Brian’s journey is anything but ordinary. A former U.S. Marine sniper and fugitive recovery specialist, he’s spent decades in the world of high-risk safety, training over 50,000 law enforcement and military professionals across the country. His expertise runs deep—and his heart for service runs even deeper.
But Weapon Brand wasn’t built on tactics alone. When Brian partnered with Jamie, the two brought the brand to life in Florida, combining strategy with storytelling to reach a broader audience. Together, they saw a unique opportunity: to bring elite safety training to everyday people in a way that feels personal, inclusive, and empowering.
Safety Training That’s Actually Built for Real Life
Weapon Brand offers a wide range of training programs tailored to today’s most urgent safety needs, including:
Active Shooter & Workplace Aggressor Response
Corporate De-escalation & Threat Awareness
Realtor Safety & CE-Certified Self-Defense
Firearm Safety, Permits & Retention Training
Bullying Prevention & Trauma-Informed Workshops
Adaptive Safety Training for Individuals with Disabilities
Office Vulnerability Assessments & Travel Safety
Each program is customizable and trauma-informed, designed to meet clients where they are—whether that’s a Fortune 500 boardroom, a local nonprofit, or a family kitchen table.
And their impact isn’t theoretical. Weapon Brand’s training has helped individuals avoid violent encounters, de-escalate tense situations, and reclaim a sense of personal security that ripples outward into their homes, workplaces, and neighborhoods.
Why St. Pete? It Just Felt Like Home.
Jamie had long-time family ties to St. Petersburg, but when Brian visited for the first time, he immediately felt the city’s energy—and its potential. After the success of that first workshop, they knew they were planting roots here. And they’ve been growing ever since.
St. Pete’s culture of connection, inclusion, and innovation has made it the perfect place for Weapon Brand’s next chapter—and their commitment to community safety is already leaving a mark.
Recognized for Inclusion, Built on Impact
Weapon Brand doesn’t just serve communities—they uplift them. Their free self-defense workshops for the LGBTQ+ community have strengthened relationships and earned national recognition, including the title of LGBT Small Business of the Year from the LGBT Chamber of Commerce.
And with an Instructor Development Program and internship opportunities open year-round, they’re training the next generation of community protectors—one leader at a time.
One Mission: Empowerment Through Education
Whether it’s helping a parent feel more secure walking to their car at night, a real estate agent prepare for an open house, or an entire company develop an emergency action plan, Weapon Brand is about more than just safety. It’s about transformation.
Because when people feel safe, they show up differently. They lead with confidence. They connect more deeply. And that’s the kind of ripple effect that builds a better St. Pete for all of us.
