The ‘GRAND PRIX’ is back in just over two weeks, March 13-15, 2020! The 16th Annual Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, kicks off spring break season again with awesome racing action on our downtown streets. It is the NTT INDYCAR SERIES’ season-opening event for the 10th straight year, and St. Pete provides the perfect destination to host this motorsports tradition offering a festival atmosphere of fun, food and off track attractions.
The temporary circuit is a 1.8-mile, 14-turn configuration using the streets circling Pioneer Park, the Duke Energy Center for the Arts, The Dali Museum and extending onto the runways at Albert Whitted Airport, which overlooks the waterfront of Tampa Bay and picturesque St. Petersburg Harbor and Marina. Seven different series featuring 13 different races will take the green flag throughout the weekend.
Race (or walk) on Track
Another great tradition of the race weekend is the 8th Annual Modern Business Associates 5K Run on the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg track, which starts on Friday, March 13 at 6:15 P.M. ET. The start/finish line will be on Bay Shore Drive NE, on the water side of North Straub Park. The race follows a route through Downtown St. Petersburg and on the Grand Prix track.
