Get to Know: YMCA Spreading Joy and Unity

33rd Annual Neighbor to Neighbor Christmas Program

YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg is busy preparing for its 33rd annual Neighbor to Neighbor Christmas Program. This year we will bring the joys of a traditional Christmas to more than 400 families and almost 900 children in St. Petersburg. Families in the program receive a live tree, ornaments, a Publix gift card for a holiday dinner, books, toys, complimentary access to YMCA programs and services throughout the year and more. We named our Christmas program “Neighbor to Neighbor” to underscore how important it is for people in our community to help and support one another, especially during tough times. “Neighbor to Neighbor” represents the Y’s commitment to bringing people together, working side-by-side to strengthen communities and creating a space for all. Opportunity exists for all community members to get involved in this meaningful program by volunteering to deliver Christmas trees or help man our toy shopping locations. Many, many toys for children of all ages are required to make this program a success. Toy donations can be dropped off at any of our branches and at many businesses around town.

To find a toy collection site near you or to learn how to purchase online from one of our toy registries and have your purchases delivered directly to the YMCA, visit https://www.stpeteymca.org/neighbor/.

Bringing the magic and nostalgia of the holiday season to the children of our community is one of the most meaningful things we do all year, but it would not be possible without the support of our community. To help make this a Christmas to remember, please take a moment find out how you can be part of this special holiday tradition.
