Ambassadors are volunteer leaders who welcome new members, build relationships, and help others get the most out of their Chamber experience. They support events, make introductions, and ensure every member feels connected and valued.

The Hospitality & Tourism Committee brings together the businesses and professionals who make St. Pete a premier destination. It’s a space to connect, share ideas, and collaborate on opportunities that strengthen our local visitor economy.

What to Expect

This committee creates meaningful conversations around industry trends, challenges, and opportunities. From hotels and restaurants to attractions and visitor-focused services, members come together to exchange insights and support one another’s growth.

Public Policy

Advocating for a stronger business climate and a thriving St. Pete

The Public Policy Council connects the business community with local decision-makers to help shape policies that impact economic growth and community vitality. It serves as a platform for discussion, insight, and advocacy on key issues affecting St. Petersburg.

What to Expect

All Chamber members are welcome to attend and participate in discussions. Voting Members have the opportunity to take action on key issues and help shape the Chamber’s policy positions.

Legislative

Shaping the Chamber’s voice on policy and legislative priorities.

The Legislative Committee develops the Chamber’s annual Legislative Agenda, outlining the priorities and principles that guide our advocacy at the local, state, and federal levels.

What to Expect

This committee meets as needed—typically via Zoom, with occasional in-person meetings—to review policy issues, discuss emerging legislation, and help define the Chamber’s positions on key matters impacting the business community.

Transportation + Housing & Land Use Development (HLUD)

The Transportation and HLUD Committees meet jointly due to the strong connection between transportation, housing, land use, and development issues within our community. While each committee has its own specific focus and goals, bringing the groups together encourages collaboration, broader discussion, and a more unified approach to shaping the future of St. Petersburg.

Focuses on improving how people move throughout the region, from mass transit and major roadways to urban mobility solutions like micro-transit and Complete Streets. The committee also brings in guest speakers to share updates, innovations, and insights on transportation and accessibility.

Housing & Land Use Development (HLUD)

Focuses on the key development issues shaping St. Petersburg, including housing, infrastructure, zoning, and growth. The committee works to support smart, sustainable development and brings in guest speakers to share expertise and perspectives.

 

Advocacy in Action

Where key issues meet real conversation—and real impact.

Advocacy in Action is a monthly event series that brings Chamber members together to learn about key policy topics and hear directly from local decision-makers—all while engaging in meaningful, purpose-driven conversation.

What to Expect

Topics rotate quarterly and focus on the issues shaping St. Pete’s future, including Sustainability & Resilience, Downtown Waterfront, and Workforce & Talent. Each session is designed to inform, connect, and inspire action.

Focuses on advancing a clean, equitable energy future by connecting local stakeholders and highlighting business leadership in sustainability, climate action, and resilience. The committee also brings in guest speakers to share insights, best practices, and innovative solutions.

Downtown Waterfront

Focuses on tracking major projects and reviewing master plan updates involving both public and private partners. The committee works to maximize opportunities while preserving what makes St. Pete special, and regularly brings in guest speakers to share updates, insights, and perspectives.

Workforce & Talent

Focuses on strengthening the pipeline of talent in St. Pete by supporting efforts to recruit, develop, and retain a strong workforce. With an emphasis on education and economic impact, the committee also brings in guest speakers to share insights, resources, and best practices.

St. Pete Young Professionals (SPYP)

Connecting and empowering the next generation of community leaders.

SPYP brings together young professionals to build relationships, grow as leaders, and engage with the St. Pete community through service, advocacy, and meaningful connections.

What to Expect

Members can participate in a variety of opportunities, including monthly council meetings, Connect Happy Hours, and monthly service projects—all designed to foster growth and connection.

Leadership St. Pete (LSP)

Developing leaders who shape the future of St. Petersburg.

As one of the oldest leadership programs in the country, Leadership St. Pete® identifies, recruits, and develops a diverse group of community leaders through immersive, hands-on experiences.

What to Expect

The program runs from December through May, offering participants the opportunity to explore key community issues, build relationships, and grow as leaders alongside a dynamic cohort.

Finance

Supporting the financial health and sustainability of the Chamber.

The Finance Committee focuses on developing financial and staffing models that ensure the long-term stability and success of the organization.

What to Expect

Members review financial planning, discuss resource allocation, and help guide sustainable growth strategies. Meetings are held in person then on zoom alternating every other month. Contact Rachel Neumann if you are interested in joining.
